General Membership Meeting

Our next General Membership meeting is Tuesday, April 28th at 7:30pm.

If you have questions, concerns, or ideas for the club, or simply want to meet your officers and board of directors, please feel free to join us at the clubhouse on April 28th. Great Swamp Fish and Game apparel will also be available for purchase from 6:30 to 7:30, both before and after the meeting.   

Kids Fishing Day

Our annual kids fishing day is on Saturday, April 11th, from 8am-12pm. You MUST have your membership cards. All fishermen must register at the shed upon arrival and have their own stringer for fish. No sharing of stringers. The limit is 3 fish per person. The Pond Stand will be open for snacks and food! FREE Hot Dogs & juice for all family members. The ponds will be closed to adult fishing and will be open for members at 1pm. Adults may not bring fishing gear to the ponds until this time.

Easter Egg Hunt

Don't forget that our annual Great Swamp Fish and Game Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Sunday, April 12th. Registration is required so the Easter Bunny knows how many eggs to hide. If you have any questions, you may contact Jim Leberknight at 267-738-0815 or email him at jleberk@gmail.com. Fishing will be CLOSED until 3pm Sunday.

We need about 5 helpers to assist with setting up for the Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 12th, at 10:30am. Setting up includes “hiding eggs” and setting up Easter bags.

GSFG Rental Property

The renovations to the rental property are almost complete. The property will be listed at the end of the month. If you are interested in viewing the property for a possible rental, please contact Joe Berardi at (215) 453-0275.

Hunting Property

Effective immediately, the hunting grounds on the property are archery only. The property has been deemed too close to structures for rifle or shotgun slug use. The property will be reposted with the new rules, which are members only and archery only. If you observe ANYONE on the property using a rifle or shotgun, report it to the board of directors immediately. The individual will be removed from the club.

Grounds Clarification 

Great Swamp Fish and Game is a sportsman’s club with over 1300 members. While your officers and board members regularly patrol the grounds, we cannot be present at all times. As members of the club, you are expected to help maintain and monitor the grounds. You should check whether other members are wearing their current 2026 Blue Club ID (which is required to be displayed at all times on club property). If they do not have their ID, they are not permitted on the grounds. If it is in their car, they need to pick it up and wear it. This should be done in a courteous manner toward fellow members. If a member does not want to display their ID, please record their ID and report it to the Board of Directors. We have caught several people in the last few weeks who are not even club members and are actively fishing. They are stealing your fish.

The kid’s pond age limit is 15 and under. During the Trout Derby, it is 6 and under for both days. This provides a safe place for young children to get excited about fishing.

Fly Fishing Rods may NOT be used on the dam between the large and small ponds.  This is for everyone’s safety.  If you observe anyone fly fishing from the dam, please nicely remind them of the rules and report it to the board of directors.

Ponds are open.  Please check the calendar for closures due to special events (Kids day, Easter Egg Hunt, etc.).  All fishermen must have their 2026 membership card on display as well as your 2026 fishing license and trout stamp. The limit is three trout and each fisherman must have their own stringer, NO SHARING.

The ponds will be closed on April 18th for Incentive Day, an exclusive morning of fishing for volunteers in appreciation for the time they dedicate to the club, from 8 am to noon. The gates and ponds will close Thursday evening, 4-16-26, and remain closed Friday, 4-17-26, for pond stocking and member incentive day of fishing on Saturday, 4-18-26, from 8AM to noon. The ponds will reopen to members after noon on 4-18-2026.

Cut Firewood! (TEMPORARILY SOLD OUT)

Cords of cut and split firewood are available at the club for $175/cord and $60/face cord. If there is anyone interested in purchasing cut firewood from the club, please contact Walt Sinnwell at 215-939-1381 to make arrangements.

NOTE TO ALL GREAT SWAMP MEMBERS:

All members may be requested to present their membership card at any time on club premises. Likewise, the individual making the request must also display their card. After the card is presented, no further dispute should ensue. Should a violation of the rules be observed, it must be reported to the board.

Work Days Starting in May

Workdays to help maintain the club grounds will begin on Saturdays in May. If you are a new member and need to complete volunteer hours, this is a great way to do so. As always, help from our current member base is welcome. If you would like to help maintain the club, sign-up will be available on the website.

Volunteers Are Needed

Great Swamp Fish and Game is doing quite well, overall. Our only downside is getting volunteers to come out and help. We are in need of volunteers for the kitchen, bingo, and mowing the grass/ trimming. Please contact Tony Kulp for the kitchen, Jim Leberknight for bingo and Walt Sinnwell for mowing the grass. Without volunteers to help the club, the board will be forced to contract outside help which, in return, will force us to raise your dues.
